Election information for voters

Ottawa’s municipal election will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014.

Voters will cast ballots for a Mayor, a City Councillor and a School Board Trustee.  School Board Trustees are elected by zones, which are made up of two or more City Wards.  The board you are entitled to vote for is determined by your school support status, as shown on the Voters’ List.

Voting for your School Board Trustee is important. Trustees develop and implement recommendations for educational programs, budgets, facilities and property issues, and policies and procedures that govern their Board’s operation. Refer to the school zone information below to determine the trustee candidates in your area.

In order to be eligible to vote for OCSB Trustees, your school support status must be listed as English Separate on the Voters' List. Your school support status is listed on the voter notification letter that was sent to all electors in late September. You can update your school support status before you vote by printing and completing an Application to Add or Amend My Name on the Voters’ List form and bringing it with you when you go to vote. Forms are also available at your voting place on voting days.

Additonal information for voters can be found on the City of Ottawa website
