Catholic Education Week – May 6 to 11, 2018

Catholic Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the uniqueness of our Catholic schools. More than 600,000 students in over 1,500 Catholic schools across Ontario take part in this special week to celebrate the distinctive contribution their schools make in the lives of our students and the community. Our community participates in planned special activities at all grade levels and in all schools. Everyone is welcome to join us in events taking place throughout the week. Tuesday, May 8 – Mass and award ceremony

The OCSB community gathered for Eucharist on Tuesday, May 8 for our Catholic Education Week Mass at the Notre Dame Cathedral. After the mass, our annual Director of Education Commendation Awards were presented to well-deserving OCSB employees who have been recognized as role models. We are truly fortunate to have these amazing people who are devoted to service in Catholic Education.

Friday, May 11 – Choral celebration

To close out this year’s Catholic Education Week, choirs from several OCSB schools gathered to participate in our annual Choral Celebrations held at Notre Dame High School and St. Paul High School. The talented students gave a beautiful singing performance in front of their peers and parents. To end the celebration, the choirs got creative, putting all of their parents up on stage while the students performed for them from the seats. It was a moving scene, and a great way to end another successful Catholic Education Week.
