  • personalized timetabling
  • flexible attendance expectations to suit training and competition schedules
  • later school start times
  • access to e-learning
  • access to our Achievement Centres (flexible learning environment)

Supporting new students with the Kinder Assessment Program

The Kinder Assessment Program has been established to support students who are age appropriate for Kindergarten and who present with generalized developmental delays. The program is designed to clarify student functioning and help students develop skills that will allow for integration into a school community. Seven OCSB schools currently offer the program. Each class has six students per staff member (6:1 students to staff ratio) to ensure individualized attention and programming. School and classroom routines and self-help skills are taught through language development and self-regulation programs, as needed. Each class is supported by multi-disciplinary teams and most have two full-time Education Assistants (EAs). The Board of Trustees received written comments from families sharing their positive reflections and gratitude for the OCSB program.
